Summer has been extremely busy for me. If you check my events page you will see I have been marketing my book in many corners of the province. Some were well attended and others were small but powerful. Unfortunately, Dalhousie was stormed out. But, I still got a private tour of the two facilities I wanted to visit and got pictures for the next book, all things being considered, not such a bad experience.

The topic may not be to everyone’s taste, but I will be channeling my energy into a crime investigation that happened when I was a child and one which lead to the last man being hanged in NB in 1957.  His parents and siblings were friends, lived very close by and my mother had a powerful story of the defendant’s last conversation with her.

While memory and time can be poor bed fellows, I will be using the actual trial transcripts to look for inconsistencies.  So far there are many. Tone, vocabulary and repeated questioning are just some tell tale signs that as my friend said recently, “guilty or innocent, he never stood a chance for a fair trial.”

If you remember my friend Doug, from my book In the Company of Men, available on my site directly from the published, he is once again my side kick and will be my sounding board through-out.

Now that we are moving into cooler weather I can see myself doing more writing…interested? Leave a question in the comments. One big question remains, if Joe is innocent, who did kill that little girl?
