I Know I Should Be Excited

Looking over my records, I see that I began this experience with my publisher in August 2025. I thought it would be a simple thing to have it read, edited and published by Christmas. NOT!

Now that I am finally published, there is both trepidation and excitement. I got the news that I was published the same day as the opening of the 2026 Olympics, February 7th. People can order directly from the publisher as you can do on my book page.  I too have made an order for books and as I await delivery, the nerves are setting in.

The journey as you will read in my book has been fraught with its own challenges. Losing the book in the house fire, another moment fraught with pain, was just one of the many challenges in getting to print.

Going Forward

I have become a member of the Writer’s Federation of New Brunswick. This month I will be attending a writer’s retreat for the first time. The goal is to have undisturbed time to write. I might be doing another book; on poetry, or maybe a fiction. This retreat will give me time to flush out ideas and try to compile the poems I can find on my computer. Many were lost in my big black bag of notes, scribbles, thoughts, and poems when the house went up in flames.

Maybe I could call the next book, “My Big Black Bag”…thinking out loud….
